OK, so today I am getting a little carried away with checking out 1970’s flower designs on Etsy. All because I am preparing a couple of little cups and saucers to list and they are so typical of the times it’s almost painful ;-) 

I can’t actually show you the items in question because I haven’t taken photos of them yet (it’s 9.48pm, the light isn’t up to par). I’ll post those tomorrow. In the meantime let’s get those neurons firing with some great vintage finds which will recreate the era. 

Let’s start with some fabric from 1Wish1Dream:

This is such a fun exercise. Disclaimer, I was a baby in the early 70s, but I do remember some of these designs hanging around. And of course there are those oh so hilarious family photos.

Moving on, I found these sheets from UncommonEye. I have to say I really like them. Come to think of it, they are scarily similar to something I saw last year at IKEA. Frustratingly, I can’t find it now, but suffice to say that fashion has, once again, come full circle… 

How about some housewares? rabbitohrabbit has these. I still can’t get my head around that olive/blue combination, but things being what they are, by next year I will probably love it:

Actually, it was only the sight of these acid-bright demi-tasses sitting on the table in front of me. Which I promise I will reveal to you tomorrow

The Daddy just waltzed in and wanted me to donate them to him for his demi-tasse collection, but I said no, The Daddy, hands off! They must have fired off some nostalgic 1970s era neurons for him too :-) 

It just occurred to me that you never see those “Under Construction” signs on the web anymore. Well… very rarely anyway. If I do I tend to sniff “how unprofessional”, stick my nose in the air and click on. 

Seems I am not the only one.

So, all I will say is Please Bear With Us while we undertake a painful blog software migration. And a big Thank You to The Daddy for taking care of all my blogging needs now and on an ongoing basis

I loved the look of my old blog, but that was about all. It failed me in just about every other way. It was like the flash fancy man who sweeps you off your feet, only for you to learn that he is a mommy’s boy with a coke habit who is always late and likes to stay in on a weekend with the lads to watch the football. 

So I traded him in for a new, and hopefully dependable blog. We’re still at that awkward stage. It will take us a while to get to know each other, but I hope he will turn out to be The One. I can update him in real time! He has comments! (Imagine that, a blog with comments - please use them but don’t abuse them people). He’s a funny color still but we’ll soon sort him out.
