Science Projects With Some Room for Improvement
While other parents (Eryn being only one example) manage amazing projects with their children, right now I feel like my preparation time is at a premium, so I am going with whatever The T-Bot thinks up on the spur of the moment.
He never recovered from the sheer delight of the volcano we made during summer, and was determined to repeat the experience. So yesterday we did, only this time we made do with whatever materials came to hand, which meant an empty pepper container wrapped in paper and tape. Behold the cheapy volcano!

Guess which clever person mistook the yellow food coloring for red?
.

.
Still, all that froth had the desired effect on the dinosaurs: extinction.

Here is another of the T-Bot’s projects from yesterday.
Toast.

As in “We have to leave it for 19 days and see what happens” Toast .
What???? It’s a totally valid scientific experiment! And thanks to IKEA, I didn’t even have to fork out for a petri dish.

I’ve been meaning to make a volcano with the kids for ages!
Those poor, poor dinosaurs. This answers so many questions for me.
And, I would just say that I made it yellow on purpose, to simulate the, um, sulfur, so common in and around volcanoes. See? That was very clever of you.
I can’t decide if I’m excited to watch your toast turn evil, or scared to bits. Will you be posting a daily pic?

Better you than me!

Those are excellent projects. I’m impressed miss home schooler! Keep us updated on the toast please.
You’re son is adorable by the way. Would he perhaps be interested in an arranged marriage? I know two six year old little girls who will be looking for a mate in about 2030 or so.

Eryn: Hmmm. Daily Toast Pic? Not a bad idea.
Mama Ginger Tree: Why Not? He has been a little worried recently about who will be the mother of his six children. She would also have to help look after all the dogs. And live in our house when not on vacation all around the globe, because he doesn’t ever want to leave. Let me know if we have a match

I have those SAME PLATES! Ikea is the bomb.
Our science projects are usually “accidents”. As in, oh look at the half plumb Blythe dropped behind the toilet a week (or more) ago. Hmm.
